With the explosion of Google Classroom and the proliferation of the 1:1 classroom, more and more teachers are using digital resources. Here’s why!
NO PRINTING
No printing means teachers save hours of time each week!
The time it takes to print, pass out, and collect hundreds of papers each week adds up to serious time and energy wasted that could be spent on more important things.
NO LOST PAPERS
Digital resources can be instantly distributed to every student in the class with the click of a button, and because they are Google, they save automatically and therefore, are never lost!
SELF-PACING AND INDEPENDENT LEARNING
Digital resources are highly scaffolded with videos, step by step instructions, examples, and analyses to allow students to work independently, and at their own pace. This is great for allowing advanced students meet their potential, while allowing struggling students the time they need to complete the work.
DIFFERENTIATION
It’s incredibly easy to mark slides for certain students or delete them. This means you can make easy modifications and allow students to do only the work that is appropriate for them.
COLLABORATION
Collaboration with Google resources is a true game changer! One of my most effective strategies is to allow students to paste their essays all on the same Google Slide presentation and have them peer-evaluate. I’ve truly never seen writing skills improve so quickly.
